So many of my Legos are suffering from serious sticker rot. This is a great disappointment.

Too bad. I’ve had a few stickers like that. Once they progress beyond looking decent, they’re a pain in the butt to remove, too :(

Likely. I’m not 100% certain, but judging by that #2 on there, I assume it might be #8185. You got a truck to go with it? Should be an Iveco.

That’s the one. Stickers are coming off the transporter too. I’ve also got 8654, and 75913 still in the box.

Get a replacement sticker set off of one of the Lego fan sites, then just hit the old stickers with goo-gone, clean up the residue and put on the replacements. I think the set is 8168. Here’s a set of NOS ones ($11):

IDK what type of sticker LEGO used in the early-mid 2000's. Some of mine are getting bad. Dont have any problems with the clear stickers. Wish LEGO would use those more often.
